Microsoft offers students attending certain universities and high schools the ability to get Windows 11 Education at no cost (it’s unclear if you can get Windows 10 this way anymore).

Please note that mounted EXT4 partitions will be displayed as EXT3 (I’ve actually used EXT4 partitions for the tests but they show up as EXT3 in the screenshots throughout this post). During the shrink process Windows tries to move any data stored near the end of the partition towards the front to make room for the new partition. However, some system files can’t be moved, which may cause a problem and produce an error message. If this happens there are ways to move those files, but it gets much more complicated that what I can cover here. I support a service garage management system that is DOS based. I think the guy that wrote the software and ran the company is dead. Every time a file blows up I have to run down there and fix it.
